Biometric Screenings
A Key Component of Wellness
Health Services Foundation (HSF) has long recognized the importance of biometric screenings as a means of determining a group’s overall health status. It’s difficult to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you are. Screenings, especially in combination with Health Risk Assessments, allow you to evaluate the overall health of your population and determine the appropriate steps to help them achieve a healthier state. Year over year, screenings allow you to assess the effectiveness of your wellness programs in meeting your objectives.
We also understand the difficulties of getting large populations to engage in the process of setting up appointments and going to a laboratory for blood draws. HSF simplifies that process by bringing the service directly to worksites in order to make it as convenient as possible for participants. Through the use of our own fully staffed mobile vans, we make screenings easy for participants while also minimizing worksite disruption.
Mobile Services
Our mobile units bring every aspect of screening to your location. We are equipped and staffed to provide registration, biometric measurements, blood draws, and private nurse counseling. Program participants complete the entire process in 30 minutes or less. All services are provided by registered nurses, phlebotomists, and medical technicians with years of experience in delivering mobile screenings.
One on one consultations with registered nurses provide participants with information about how to obtain follow-up services so they can manage known conditions or potential risk factors. Participants are referred to appropriate covered benefits, as well as to community resources. As a follow-up, participants are mailed a report card that provides a summary of their screening results.
Promoting Participation
Health Services Foundation also provides support services to help you generate the highest level of participation. Prior to an on-site screening, we work with your staff to develop a plan to maximize participation, contact potential participants to set up screening appointments, and come to your facilities to promote the program. Post-program, we maintain contact with you in order to assess program effectiveness and determine how we can improve the process for subsequent events.
Program Objectives
Our program is specifically designed to identify risk factors for conditions that can be successfully managed through behavioral and lifestyle changes. Our standard screenings include:
- Hemoglobin A1c
- Cholesterol
-
Nicotine (Cotinine)
-
Gamma Glutamyl Transferase
- BMI
-
PSA (optional)
We Build a Service to Meet Your Needs
Mobile screenings can provide solutions to a number of issues. In addition to the convenience of worksite screenings, we also provide a solution for employee/participants who are in remote locations or who are working at temporary job sites. We can also provide services at events, such as health fairs or company/union picnics. While our services are primarily aimed at identifying risk factors that can be managed, we are willing to consider additional services based on the specific needs of our client groups.
